Dr. Derlene Attili de Angelis
She is currently a researcher at the Division of Microbial Resources at CPQBA/UNICAMP, curator of the
Brazilian Collection of Environmental and Industrial Microorganisms/CBMAI; coordinator of the
PATGEN/UNICAMP committee and member of the Working Group on the Nagoya Protocol of the Latin
American Federation of Culture Collections – FELACC. She is associated to the Post-Graduate Program in
Biological Sciences of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and to the Genetics and Molecular Biology
of the Institute of Biology, UNICAMP. Dr. Attili-Angelis also works as a permanent professor at the Post-
Graduate Program at the Biosciences Institute of UNESP/Rio Claro, in the area of Applied Microbiology.
She has experience in Microbiology with emphasis on mycology, mainly taxonomy of filamentous fungi
and black yeasts, bioremediation and molecular biology of melanized and endophytic fungi, aiming at
prospecting bioactive molecules for agricultural and environmental application. The researcher also
works with quality and management of microbial culture collections. She maintains projects in
partnership with: Federal University of Paraná, UFPR; Instituto Adolfo Lutz, RC, SP; University of the
State of Santa Catarina – UDESC; Faculty of Agricultural Engineering – Unicamp; University of Minho,
Portugal and the International Center for Fungal
