DQOF

ORGANIC AND PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMICAL DIVISION

Initially called the Laboratory of Synthetic Chemistry, it aimed to develop organic synthesis projects for government agencies and pharmaceutical companies, with emphasis on the synthesis of various active ingredientes such as: tiratricol, bromazepam, lorazepam, pentoxifylline among others. In the early 1990s, its members participated in a multidisciplinar Project for the synthesis of artemisinin derivatives, resulting in the publication of several papers, dissertations, theses and a patent. In 1998, with the restructuring of the CPQBA, this group began to dedicate itself more to the research area of bioactive compounds of natural origin and semi-synthesis products, receiving the denomination of organic and pharmaceutical chemistry division (DQOF). This group also collaborates in teaching activities, provides training courses, and services on demand. It currently has a team made up of researches, chemists and students.
